Race Communications
This website is the source of truth.
WhatsApp is for athlete and race team communications, including urgent messages before and during race day. It is the athlete's responsibility to ensure that they are on WhatsApp. *The race leadership communicated this information with all athletes at least one month before the race, using emails submitted by the athletes at registration, so this should not be new information.
If you want to be part of the conversation
a. Download WhatsApp (FREE) on or before Saturday, January 14th and make sure you've given us the phone number being used for the platform.
*Important: We cannot add you to the group if you do not have an account set up, and you will not be able to see conversations that happen before you join.
b. Keep notifications on and join the conversation. Get to know other participants and share your status during the race, including any questions for the race director. This is a great way to crowd-share information and experiences in real time.
If you don't want to be part of the conversation
Turn off notifications in WhatsApp. Then, you can check in whenever you feel like it while controlling disruptions.

Proper Gear
The right gear makes all the difference.
- Micro-spikes: Kahtoola or a knock-off version are the recommended style.
- Wool socks. Wool warms, cotton cools.
- Gaiters, short or tall, to keep snow out of your shoes.
- Layers. Thin, technical or polyester stretchy layers for movement and breathability. Sweat needs someplace to go! Leave the heavy coat and thick toque for sledding.
