Guiding Principles
This is an Adventure Run. Show up for adventure, act with good will, be a good neighbour.
1. Misconduct that could bring the event or its leadership into disrepute will result in disqualification and permanent banning from the event. Misconduct that may harm others, including property or bylaws, will result in disqualification and permanent banning from the event.
Fair Practices and Good Sportsmanship first and always.

BEFORE THE ADVENTURE RUN!
2. Refunds
There are costs attached to various events and materials/supplies are often purchased well in advance of the event. For each event in the series, the following deadlines apply:
- Full Refunds are available three calendar months before the event.
- Example: Winter Revenge is on January 16th. A full refund can be requested on or before November 16th.
- Example: Winter Revenge is on January 16th. A 50% refund can be requested on or after November 16th up to December 16th (the no refund period).
- Example: Winter Revenge is on January 16th. No refunds are available after December 16th.
3. Transfers
You can transfer your spot to anyone at any time. You must make your own arrangements with the transferee and then ensure that the race director is contacted with the new information before the event.
Contact rvrultra@gmail.com for assistance.
4. Course Flagging
Each course will have sustainably sourced markers. On or just before race day, each participant may also receive a digital file of the courses.
5. Acts of God
We will always do our best to proceed with the race where safety is not unreasonably compromised. If there are environmental circumstances out of our control that require the race to be cancelled, there are no refunds.
Any decision to modify or cancel the adventure run may result in very short notice to the racers.
DURING THE ADVENTURE RUN!
6. Leave No Trace.
Pack in what you pack out. No littering or unnecessary harm to the trails. See "Trail Etiquette" page for more information and for other etiquette tips while on course.
7. Aid Stations
There are no official aid stations on course, but there will be roaming aid stations - look for our course marshalls! Otherwise, plan to have support or to carry what you need.
8. Poles
Your choice.
9. Washrooms
A porta-potty will be located at or near the start/finish of each course.
10. Pet Companions
- Your dog can join you as long as it is not a nuisance to others. Carry doggy bags and clean up after it, even if you didn't see it go.
- Off-leash dogs must be under your control at all times; otherwise, they must be leashed.
- Leave the trails the way you found them: do not kick poop into the bush, and do not leave doggy bags along the trails.
11. Highly Recommended Gear
(a) Trail shoes. This is for your safety. If you don't own a pair of trail shoes and are registered for this adventure, you are probably not prepared for what you signed up for.
(b) Micro-spikes. Not the Costco smarties kind... the Kahtoola aggressive kind. A highly recommended must for those new to our course.
(d) Your own fuel to keep you hydrated between aid stations.
(e) Your own cup! We are a cup-free event. Bring your own for whatever you may need or anticipate needing.
12. Drop Bags and Changing Clothes
There will be a place for drop bags and changing clothes at race start/transition/finish.
13. Crew and Cheer Squad
There will be no on-course event support. Friends and family can cheer and support at the transiton (start/finish location).
14. Giving and Receiving Aid
If you or another athlete requires non-emergency medical aid, contact Headquarters. On-call medical personnel will be dispatched to assist. Crew or athletes or anyone else around may also assist as long as they do nothing beyond their skill-set and report the incident to HQ as soon as possible. For a medical emergency, call 9-1-1.
15. On-course Withdrawal
Participants who do not finish will get all swag as a memento. Return to Headquarters to report your DNF and collect your adventure kit.
